About Us
The Head and Neck Surgical Oncologists in the Dept. of Otolaryngology-Head &Neck Surgery care for patients with tumors of the head and neck, surgical disorders of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, and skin cancer.
Our four-member team are all subspecialty trained cancer surgeons who offer a full array of the most up to date techniques, including transoral laser cancer surgery, endoscopic image guided skull base surgery, intraoperative MRI, sentinel lymph node biopsy, minimally invasive parathyroid surgery, and intraoperative nerve monitoring and microvascular reconstruction.
Our cancer surgeons collaborate within a multidisciplinary of cancer specialists and allied healthcare workers at CancerCare MB (CCM) that offer comprehensive care to head and neck cancer patients. This multidisciplinary team, called the CCM Head and Neck Disease Site Group, consists of the surgeons, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists who will coordinate patient care with the support of dedicated oncology nurses, speech language pathologists, dieticians, and social workers. Following treatment our team ensures that patients receive the ongoing follow-up and rehabilitation required to optimize recovery. Experienced therapists work to ensure the best possible recovery of function such as voice, speech, chewing and swallowing. Manitoba has one of the most comprehensive functional outcome monitoring programs in North America which assists the team in optimally caring for patients long after they complete treatment.
