Ciarán Lane is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He completed a Master’s Degree in translational research and medical school at Dalhousie University. His residency training was at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Lane went on to complete subspecialty fellowship training at the Pennsylvania State University and is a fellow of the American Head and Neck Society.
His practice includes comprehensive head and neck oncology, transoral surgery, skull base surgery, and the full range of reconstructive surgery. His research focus is on the translation of 3D imaging technologies to head and neck reconstruction and improving function and quality of life after surgery. Dr. Lane is a mentor and active teaching faculty for residents and medical students at the main academic hospital in Winnipeg. He is the social media editor at the Journal of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and hosts a podcast highlighting the latest research in otolaryngology. He is an active member of the American Head and Neck Society including positions on committee’s and specialty working groups.
